Overview
A good central location for visiting York, spacious accessible room, friendly helpful staff and free parking (with blue badge)
Transport & Parking
We drive and parked across the road in a car park shared by the council and hotel. Spaces were very tight, luckily no one parked next to me which allowed by husband to get into wheelchair. When leaving I had to move the car out of the space first to allow access. Ground was fine for wheelchair and easy to get across the road to hotel (dropped kerbs) Parking was free with blue badge provided you park in a council space
Access
Easy access into hotel. Room was on the 4th floor. Fire alarm went off at 5am but luckily a false alarm as we really didn't know what we should do as no lifts could be used (lesson learnt!). Spacious room and roll in wet room. Only downfall was no shower chair on arrival. This was quickly supplied in the form of a white plastic garden chair. Did the job but either a fixed shower seat or wheeled seat would have been better. Sink good height for wheelchair, grab bars round toilet.
Toilets
Can only comment on room as above
Staff
Very friendly but receptionists lacked a little knowledge. I was originally charged £10 per night for parking as 2 receptionists were unaware and seemed unwilling to investigate if I could park using blue badge (even though I was told this on booking). I emailed when I got home and quickly received an apology and refund which I was happy with. Also weren't initially aware that a shower seat could be made available. I was nearly sent away empty handed until manager overheard and sorted within minutes.

Would go back. Wetherspoons directly across the road with lovely riverside views and great accessibility. We went here for breakfast instead of hotel.
