Overview
I love everything about this visitors centre. There is accessible parking, a great cafe and really interesting collections around the visitors centre
Transport & Parking
There is an accessible parking bay immediately in front of the building. It was a little worrying getting in and out though as it is on the road passing the centre and doesn't have any hatch markings so passing cars come pretty close to you. There is another small car park at the bottom of the building which has space for three more cars.
Access
The access in and around the building was great. I was so impressed that although the centre is over two levels, it is still accessible. There is a platform lift to take anyone with limited mobility up to the raised section to ensure everyone sees every collection. The only things stopping the access from being 5-star is the double doors being manually opened.
Toilets
There is an accessible loo in the building, but I didn't use it so can't comment I'm afraid.
Staff
The warm welcome from the staff really made me feel at home in the visitors centre. They couldn't do enough to help and immediately offered me the WiFi code etc.
Anything else you wish to tell us?
Seemed like such a lovely place to work and the staff all took great pride in what they were doing and in how accessible the venue was.
