Great Starting Point for an Afternoon in Holmfirth
Visit date:
Overview
This accessible tourist information ensures that everybody can find out and plan a visit to Holmfirth. This historic town, is home to the still popular programme "Last of the Summer Wine", and information about the town and surrounding areas is available here, either on one of the many leaflets, or by speaking to the knowledgeable local staff.
Transport & Parking
There is a very small car park adjacent to, and opposite the building. Alternatively there is a larger car park at the co op, a short walk away. There is also the bus station in the center of the town, which runs fairly frequent buses to nearby Huddersfield and Wakefield.
Access
From what I could see the access was good. The building was well signposted, and there was a ramp to the right of the door, in addition to the stairs.
Toilets
I did not visit the toilet, but it is listed as "partially accessible" online. There is also a loop system entered.
Staff
Friendly, knowledgeable and chatty.
Anything else you wish to tell us?
I would recommend this venue as a starting point to explore the area, and find out what accessible options there are. Holmfirth is a very old town, and as such may be difficult for some people to access. The tourist information is able to offer help and advice, so that anybody can enjoy a visit!
