Overview
This museum contains information about the history and making of Edammer and Gouda Cheese. While visiting, you will see many historical objects relating to cheese and learn how it is made today. During certain times of the day, there are interactive presentations you can attend. Upon entry, you also receive a small sample of the world famous cheese to enjoy. This museum can be seen in about an hour.
Transport & Parking
There are various parking options within a 5 minute walk of the museum. On cheese market days, it is highly recommended that you arrive at least an hour before the market begins to secure a nearby parking place. If traveling by taxi, the company Accessible Travel Netherlands can make arrangements for you. If going by public transportation, the Centraal Station is a 15 minute walk away from the Museum.
Access
From the gift shop, an elevator is available to access the museum.
Toilets
A wheelchair accessible toilet is located inside the museum.
Staff
The staff members are helpful in answering questions and can make special arrangements in advance.

On Fridays between 9:30 and 12 in the spring and summer, the entrance to the museum can get really crowded with people watching the cheese market making it difficult to access. If you are in a wheelchair, it is best to avoid the museum during these times.
