The best budget chain for Disabled

Overview
Holiday Inn Express, a UK wide hotel chain, offers accessible rooms with adjacent rooms that can be made interconnecting for a carer and offer good rates. We have stayed in other chains but have no doubt that Holiday Inn Express is the best and the one at Watford Junction is very good.
Transport & Parking
Parking at the hotel is limited and is charged, not surprising for such a location, but there were 4 disabled bays, a generous allocation and there were free.
Access
Wide double doors, with automatic opening. Circulation areas were fine, all on one level with space to manoeuvre, tables in the restaurant were well placed with ample space for knees.
Toilets
The en suite wet room was excellent, very spacious so easy to access the loo which had plenty of gripping bars. The shower itself had an excellent large flip down seat and well positioned bars to grip.
Staff
There had been a confusion over our booking and on arrival we were allocated two ordinary, non accessible rooms which were not adjacent. The staff moved us to an accessible room and when I spoke to the guests already in the connecting room and they agreed to move along the corridor for us the staff cleaned their room for us when it barely needed it!
Anything else you wish to tell us?
Obviously we were unhappy about the initial confusion but fortunately the staff were able to make changes and did so with a big smile even though this meant the duty manager had to put on cleaning aprons and service the room!
