Overview
Like many older hotels, they are interesting to look at and in a great location in the middle of Nottingham. There are 2 disable parking bays in front of the hotel, but you will need to ask and reserve as they are also used for other guest and members of staff. There is a bar / dining area,1/2 which is wheelchair accessible, but with friendly staff who will carry drinks etc. The rooms although sold as accessible are not fully accessible depending on your disability, although in aprox 12 months from this review there is planned refurbishment of the hotel.
Transport & Parking
You can drive here - and there are 2 accessible parking bays out front, with a reasonable ramp to enter the hotel
Access
Access is good, with ramped access, you need to book an accessible rooms as there are floors and sections of floors that only have access via stairs - There are 2 lifts, but they are very small - and a power chair user may struggle - Also the corridor in the room once opened is very narrow (700mm wide) approx
Toilets
Only used room toilet, but it had rails and a raised seat - in perfectly good working order, just a little dated
Staff
Very pleasant, happy to help - although when confronted with access issues, they listened well, but did not really know how to respond
Anything else you wish to tell us?
The accessible room had good space with a double bed, and plenty of room to get a chair round all sides, the bathroom door was wider than the entrance door making access here better, good space, but with a batch and rails rather than a walk in shower - there is however a sitting shelf on the end of the bath with rails to help gain access to a bath (as the shower is out of reach - as is the towels) please not the rails are all once sided - no bath rail on the open side to help. really depends on your care needs and size of your wheelchair
