Overview

My stay at the Hilton in general was enjoyable and the building, rooms and restaurant are all very accessible.

Transport & Parking

There is a private car park below the hotel itself, which can be booked along with your room. It does have accessible spaces too. I was too late booking to get a room, but I later found out that the height limit for cars in the car park is 2 meters, so I wouldn't have fit in anyway with my roof box on. There is the opportunity to park on street around the block, but it can be difficult to find a space in busy periods.

Access

4

There was level access from the street and a drop off area for taxi's etc to use. The front door is a revolving door which I wasn't sure I'd get through, but there was another standard door at the side. It wasn't clear that this was an accessible entrance, but there is a buzzer to press to speak to reception, so you get in eventually. Once inside, the restaurant is on the upper ground floor, but there is a platform lift to get you there and the staff couldn't be more helpful.

Toilets

The accessible loo in my room did have everything I needed and was spacious enough, but the red pull cord was tied to the ceiling, which let it down quite a bit. I also had to call reception to ask for a shower chair to be delivered, but the staff were more than happy to help with this.

Staff

The staff helped quite a bit with my cases etc when I arrived. In the morning they were also on hand to make sure I managed with the buffet style breakfast too. Couldn't ask for anything more.

Anything else you wish to tell us?

I guess the main thing that could make or break this hotel for disabled guests could be the parking. If you can get in early enough to book a disabled parking bay, then I'm sure it would make accessing the hotel much easier.
