Overview
Booked in to the Hilton for the Motability conference at the NEC. First of all they had no standard priced accessible rooms so in order to get one I had to pay extra for a premium one. Disabled parking is locked away behind a gate that you must call the concierge to open. There are plenty of spaces, but, as usual, most are taken up by non-blue badge drivers. The room itself was a twin bed when I’d asked for a double. There was a very awkward wall-mounted shelf that limited mobility to the far half of the room. The bathroom was barely big enough to fit my chair, and while it did feature your standard accessible washroom amenities, the drain was either clogged or not working properly leading to flooding the entire bathroom and part of the bedroom carpet. Would not recommend this hotel in any capacity.
Transport & Parking
Access
Everywhere except for the room was wide and accessible, with relatively clear signposts for lifts. The grounds are very accessible, with plenty of drop curbs.
Toilets
Any bathroom I used on site (not just in the room) was horrendously small. But hey, they had some so they get one star.
