Wonderful wildlife park
Visit date:
Overview
This park feels very different to other zoos, perhaps because the animals that live there all enjoy a similar climate - mountainous and cold! We had a brilliant time on the wildlife safari and listening to the keeper talks. Access was simple, and all the paths were very wide. It was a little hilly in places, but surprisingly less so than city zoos I've visited!
Transport & Parking
Good sized car park, and a good drop off point if you're not driving yourself. We got a taxi as neither of us had a car, and it was a very simple (if slightly pricey) way to do it, and we weren't the only ones! It meant we didn't drive our own car around the safari, but instead jumped in one of the park's jeeps for a tour. These jeeps are very high to get into, but they provide a step whether you request one or not.
Access
Paths and boardwalks were all wide and comfortable to walk across. It was easy to see in all enclosures, and signposting was very good throughout. The hilliest part is past the snow leopard up towards the goats and the polar bears. Cafe and shop spacious with smooth floors.
Toilets
Didn't use these but they were clearly signposted.
Staff
Absolutely fantastic! Really friendly folk, tell you about the animals without making you feel like they do it all day every day but that they actually enjoy talking to you about them.
Anything else you wish to tell us?
Highly recommend visiting, took us around 2-3 hours to do the park. It's a good idea to attend the keeper talks/animal feeding as you learn so much more and are more likely to see the animals, especially the elusive snow leopard.
