Limited Mobility Day
Ever wanted to explore the Highland Wildlife Park but felt challenged by the vast expanse and terrain? Join the Cycling without Age and Paratreker teams and explore the park by trishaw or specially adapted all terrain wheelchair, with their experienced staff to guide and make sure you enjoy the freedom to see the amazing sights!
Cycling Without Age is a movement started in 2012 by Ole Kassow and Dorthe Pederson. Ole wanted to help the elderly get back on their bicycles, but he had to find a solution to their limited mobility. The answer was a trishaw and he started offering free bike rides to the local nursing home residents. Despite starting out with the intention of supporting the elderly, Cycling Without Age now supports all who have limited mobility. The Scotland chapter was established in 2016 and has gone from strength to strength with many Scots of all ages experiencing the freedom a tour out on a trishaw can give them and the benefits of the personal interaction with the pilot and those around them.
Tours will run throughout the day on a first come first served basis and visitors making the most of the opportunity will be invited to give feedback after their bespoke tour.
RZSS would like to extend an invitation to local groups and charities who would like to experience the trishaws and/or paratrekkers for themselves and a day out at the Highland Wildlife Park for free on 4th and 5th October. Please contact lrobshaw@rzss.org.uk to arrange your group visit by October 3rd – there are a limited number of free tickets to give away so don’t miss out!
