Overview

There's a woodland walk from the car park (charge payable) down to the viewpoint. Crossing the road from the car park requires a bit of help as there's no dropped kerb on the far side and no crossing (so care needed spotting cars, which travel quite fast on this section of road). There's a bit of a bump in the first bit of path, but after that it's a gentle trundle on firm paths more or less all the way down - only the very last short section is inaccessible (steps). Spectacular waterfall. Charges apply - buy tickets in ticket office in car park.

Transport & Parking

3.5

Driving necessary. Car park has disabled section nearest ticket office and loos. Charge for car park (tickets issued as you drive in). Car park reasonably level.

Access

3.5

The path to the waterfall was quite firm. My power trike managed unaided even back up the slope. Crossing the road from the car park is tricky - I needed able bodied helpers to tell me when it was safe to cross and there was no dropped kerb on the pavement at the far side. The first bit of the path had an awkward bump in it, so needed help to stabilise the wheelchair going over that. The final section leads to steps so I didn't go as far as that. However I still had a good view of the waterfall. It's a pleasant walk/wheel down and back.

Toilets

2

There is a toilet in the car park. Unfortunately I didn't use it so can't comment on it.

Staff

0.5

Not staffed other than the lady at the car park who offered no advice or assistance.

Anything else you wish to tell us?

The obvious improvements that could be made are - a dropped kerb on the opposite side of the road to make the crossing easier for disabled people. I would also suggest smoothing out the bump in the path at the very top of the walk - again to make the start of the walk safer and easier.
