Overview
These beautiful, cosy, well-equipped cottages are eco-friendly as well as accessible! Two cottages on this site and others at Field House Farm down the road, run by the same people are all on one level. The owners are trained in disability awareness and are clearly keen to do all they can to make your holiday a success: they can provide a higher chair, a loo-seat raiser and a shower stool if required. Their website has an access statement and loads of useful information. They also provide a fabulously generous welcome pack full of breakfast goodies, a bottle of wine and more! Nearby Bempton Cliffs are accessible, as is the prom at Bridlington.
Transport & Parking
Lots of parking. You can park near the cottage for loading/unloading.
Access
Smooth paving outside, plenty of room inside.
Toilets
We were in The Spinney - slight problem with the shower being a fixed overhead type which is an issue when using a shower stool - you can't avoid the initial cold water or avoid wetting your hair, but the owners are thinking of adding a non-fixed shower, plus other cottages of theirs have this already. A few more grabrails would have been good in the bathroom.
Staff
Really pleasant,friendly and helpful.
Anything else you wish to tell us?
Apart from a couple of reservations (the bathroom, a described above, plus the bed was rather too high; it's tiring having to brace yourself not to slide off, when sitting on it!) these cottages are fabulous as they are so high-spec: nothing scruffy or broken, just stylish and comfortable and with some interesting family and local information too and a webcam so you see the resident barn owl! :
