Overview
The gardens are really beautiful and include a beautiful lake, Italian gardens, rose garden, formal gardens. They also do excellent cake! It was a really relaxing enjoyable afternoon
Transport & Parking
We drove and on arrival told the car park attendant that I needed to use a wheelchair. He directed us into the castle grounds so we could park very close to the entrance which was really helpful.
Access
I only went into the gardens (not the castle itself) which were really easy to get around. The gardens are generally quite flat and there are excellent ramps to negotiate the steps. The paths are wide and good for wheelchairs. Some of the smaller formal gardens are not as accessible as the paths are smaller but that is a small part of the garden and you can peek into them.
Toilets
I saw or saw signs to an accessible toilet but didn’t use it.
Staff
Very helpful, friendly and chatted to me.
Anything else you wish to tell us?
Hever castle has a really helpful disability statement on their website which gives details of exactly how far things are and what assistance is available. You can hire a wheelchair which is free although requires a £25 deposit (you can leave credit card details).
