This review is especially helpful for those who have or use the following: Walking Aid, Hidden Impairment
Overview
This review is by someone with ME/CFS - I am mostly mobile, so I can’t speak to wheelchair access. I do, however have orthostatic intolerance and cognitive impairment, as well as APD…among a long list of symptoms. The Post Office is notoriously understaffed - waiting is almost inevitable - which can be intolerable. To their credit they have put chairs around and so long as other customers work with you to keep your place in line that’s fine - it DOES require interacting with other people, which you don’t always feel like doing. It’s easier now I have a walking stick - people like to code you, if you don’t have apparatus and look otherwise healthy they’re less likely to work with you. The staff are overworked but generally far more polite and helpful than they probably have the energy for! I have seen one get impatient with a customer who was wasting her time, but I’ve always approached them with understanding and received all the help I needed back without feeling rushed.
Transport & Parking
WHSmiths is in a pedestrian zone (9am - 16:30 I think, might be 17:30)
Access
You have to access this through WHSmiths, I am not a wheelchair user, nor am I sensory impaired, it’s not for me to say
Toilets
Staff
The staff are exhausted, overworked, but maintain a professional attitude that’s quite impressive (I’ve worked much of my life as a sales assistant)
