Overview
Whilst the accessibility features around Heathrow Terminal 1 and other terminals are generally good, distances are often quite large and it is best (in theory) to request assistance. The trouble is that if you book assistance it is hardly ever available when needed - risking missed flights.
Transport & Parking

Access
Generally ramps and lifts are manageable - some ramps quite long and steep
Toilets
Accessible toilets are generally excellent
Staff
When you get hold of,staff they are generally very friendly and helpful. The problem is that the company which organises assistance for disabled travellers is incompetent (based on multiple visits to Heathrow)
Anything else you wish to tell us?
If you require disabled assistance and can avoid using Heathrow (difficult) I would recommend doing so. Assistance at other airports is generally much better organised.
