Overview

Fantastic range of very tasty beers, and great food (pizza on a Saturday) provided by the local Bakery next door. I had the stout which I would recommend if you like the darker stuff. Given current Covid measures drinks orders where taken at the table, with chalkboard drinks menus dotted about the walls. Food orders where done via our phones. At least some dietary requirements were provided for (there were definitely vegan pizza options), but it may be worth checking in advance. Very spacious inside, with a mix of lower bench tables and taller tables. I didn't feel I was in the way in my wheelchair, which is always nice. The flooring is all flat and fab to wheel over. There is an additional upstairs seating area, to which I did not notice any access. No background music, though it was reasonably loud with chatter from other tables. The doorway is nice and wide, though a sandwich board did obstruct it somewhat. I was able to squeeze past it in a standard width chair, but a wider chair may have struggled. A staff member did offer to move it as I approached. The staff were all very friendly and helpful, and were easily visible. They definitely know their beer! There is a large car park outside, which is shared by several other businesses. There were plenty of spaces at lunchtime on a Saturday, but from past experiences I know it can get very busy at times.

Transport & Parking

Car park was fine on the day, but it can get very busy. Very limited public transport options, fairly typical for a small rural area. The local station is about half a mile away and is definitely not accessible!

Access

The drinks menus were in an easily legible script on blackboards on the walls, with standart pub signs on the bar taps and a good display of the range through a window. I did not notice any alternative formats for drinks menus, but the staff were very helpful and patient. The foodmenu was printed out, and could also be accessed via a smartphone. There is an additional upstairs seating area, to which I did not notice disabled access (and where the ladies loos are also located)

Toilets

One disabled loo on thee ground floor, I had no issues getting to it, and there were plenty of handholds and rails.

Staff

All the staff I met were fab. Very helpful and able to offer suggestions on the menu.
