Overview
Staff very friendly and helpful. Lift to access all floors, however due to it being very old (as is the house) it is rather small and if you have a larger than average wheelchair you may not be able to get in. Hatfield House is a country house set in a large park, the Great Park, on the eastern side of the town of Hatfield, Hertfordshire.
Transport & Parking
On the day we visited there was adequate Disabled Parking Spaces.
Access
Due to the age of the building the main entrance was only accessible by steps. But there was access via the kitchen in the basement which was part of the house. One of the floors has a slightly narrower exit door on the lift so I managed to get in but then couldn't get out at the floor. This was our second visit and although I only saw part of the house I did enjoy it. Photography is allowed without a flash so the floor I was unable to gain access to my husband went up and took photographs for me.
Toilets
Toilets are in the Stable Yard, there are no public toilets in the house.
Staff
The staff were friendly and generally helpful and knowledgeable.
