Overview

'The Magic Garden' was GREAT (particularly if you have young kids)! The AstroTurf bowl was particularly popular with kids (and safe) due to flexible, rubberised backing as were the areas around the raised walkways, slides and climbing exhibits, but it was more difficult to push a wheelchair here. However there were lots of firmer paths in other areas and the staff were numerous and helpful. Blue badge parking was available in the palace grounds relatively close by. The toilet facilities in 'the magic gardens' are not open yet, but their location in the gardens' looks very convenient.

Transport & Parking

We were very lucky and were able to park in 1 of the 9 blue badge parking spaces within the palace itself!

Access

The signs throughout the palace grounds were very clear and access to the main information area was easy, via both steps & a ramp.

Toilets

The disabled loo in the main men's toilets had obviously been modified and was tiny! There was no room for a wheelchair and a person to transfer to the toilet and once there the sink was so close to the toilet that my legs were squeezed between the sink and the toilet seat.

Staff

There were lots of people about and from the beefeater/guard at the gates to those at the information desk and in the gardens', everyone was very helpful and keen to help.

Anything else you wish to tell us?

I would definitely recommend this venue for a visit and although I didn't visit the palace on this occasion - the weather was too good - I will visit again, so please sort out ALL the disabled toilets!
