Overview

This branch of Wetherspoons is located in the former ballroom of the grandiose Great Eastern Hotel attached directly to London Liverpool St Station. The interior is magnificent. It's a good place for a wheelchair user and the accessible toilet is good apart from a thoughtlessly-positioned waste-bin in the wheelchair transfer area.

Transport & Parking

Zillions of buses swarm near and around Liverpool St Station, and you should be able to get ramp assistance when arriving and departing from the station. The tube at this station is almost hopeless for step-free access: the only part of it you can use step-free is the Circle/Met Line Eastbound.

Access

The entrance to the pub is smooth and step-free and it's easy to get around the bar. There is no step-free access to the raised mezzanine area. Many tables are the high sort with bar-stools, but there are a few ordinary-height tables suitable for wheelchair users.

Toilets

There is a decent accessible toilet, opened with a RADAR key, and if you don't have one the staff will open it for you. The only problem with this otherwise good toilet is that there's a large bin in the wheelchair transfer area. This is very thoughtless and unhelpful. This area is not free space for storage of large objects like bins. It's the place where wheelchair users park to transfer to the toilet.

Staff

Staff were courteous and helpful all the time, and lose one star only because of their thoughtless placing of the bin in the accessible toilet.
