Overview

Hoa Lo Prison is a historical relic built by French colonialists in 1896 and displays the changing history of Vietnam including Vietnamese and American prisoners. There is step free access to the prison although some areas may not be accessible (and a small section on the second floor which is not accessible - about 20 steps up but with hand rails on each side). Signs in Vietnamese, English and French but quite small print. Lots of photos.

Walked to the venue but appeared to be parking outside

Access

Step free access to enter the prison but some areas would be inaccessible for wheelchairs. Only ever one step so might be suitable for others with mobility aids, but no hand rails for single steps. Signs are small print but lots of pictures and able to understand without the signs.

Toilets

Clean toilets but no disabled access

Staff

Fantastic staff very willing to help. Language barrier if don't speak Vietnamese!

Such a fantastic exhibition. Brought me to tears. Well worth a visit if able to go, but would be aware of lack of accessibility for certain impairments .
