Overview

Reasonably large hotel located in small resort, 10 minutes drive from the airport or Santa Cruz de La Palma, the island's capital. Hotel offers a variety of tariffs including all inclusive. Steps free car park to disabled accessible bedrooms, 4 lifts which go to restaurant, bar, swimming pool and outdoor seating area.

Transport & Parking

A taxi from the airport takes 10 minutes so a very short transfer time. There are buses that go to the airport and to Santa Cruz every day, and the bus stop is directly opposite the hotel.

Access

From the car park there are a couple of shallow steps or on the right hand end of the porch steps free into reception. The disabled accessible rooms are on a corridor opposite reception. My room had a walk in shower with seat and grab rail and the toilet, which was very low down, had a grab rail. The room was on the one level and had a balcony. There were 4 lifts which take you down to the bar, restaurant and outdoor seating area. From there is a ramp or steps with no rails to the swimming pool. The restaurant is self service.

Toilets

There was a disabled toilet on the lower ground floor where the restaurant and bar where, the toilet was low and had a grab rail on one side.

Staff

Overall the staff were very friendly. They phoned for a taxi when I wanted one. During the 3 days I was there only one waitress in the restaurant asked if I needed assistance. However on the Saturday when I arrived I gave the man on receipt 20 euros for my safe key deposit and payment for the use of the safe. I didn't get a receipt ad when I went to check out I was given the deposit back but asked to pay for the use of the safe. I explained I had paid on the Saturday but they explained that they don't take the money up front, so as I didn't have a receipt, I had to pay again. I would suggest if you stay to ensure you get a receipt for anything you pay for.

The dishonest member of staff on reception was the only thing that I didn't like on an otherwise very pleasant stay. The hotel is currently being refurbished and it looks a little dated. I stayed during the Easter weekend an found the hotel quiet and relaxing. The buffet food was nice. Although the hotel is all inclusive it doesn't have daytime entertainment but at night in the bar there was live music. Overall it was a restful and relaxing holiday. The hotel is very near the airport and plane fly overhead, but it is not a very busy airport and the proximity meant I was in my room 30 minutes after we landed.
