Overview
The Guinness Storehouse tour was an accessible delight into the heritage of one of Ireland's most popular national beers. There storehouse tour is divided across 7 floors all which are accessible either by lift or ramps and every floor is spacious with plenty room to wheel or walk around and take part in the interactive elements of the tour. On the 7th floor in the Gravity Bar you have the opportunity to pour your own pint of Guinness, there is an accessible tap available for wheelchair users, soft drinks are also available should you prefer. The panoramic view from the Gravity Bar was the highlight for me, being able to see the whole of Dublin, guarantees a beautiful view regardless of the weather.
Transport & Parking
I travelled by Public Transport (Luas) from the City Centre Red Zone, bound for Tallaght and got off at St James Street which was approx an 5-7 minute wheel from the Luas stop.
Access
The whole experience was enjoyable from beginning to end, the tour has been very well thought out and accessibility must have been a huge part of that because there lots of lifts and ramps in place, every part of the tour is accessible including the interactive elements which are easy to reach from wheelchair height.
Toilets
Accessible toilets available on every floor which were easy to find.
Staff
The staff were fantastic very friendly, knowledgeable when giving the tour & encouraged people to ask questions. They also couldn't have done anymore to ensure we had the best experience possible.
Anything else you wish to tell us?
I was a bit sceptical about this at first because I don't drink alcohol but I'd certainly recommend this tour it's a fantastic insight into Irish history, you don't need to be a Guinness fanatic to enjoy it! I don't think I'd do it again though as the content of the tour won't change but I'm glad I done it just for the panoramic view of Dublin, it was amazing!
