Overview
We visited whilst on holiday. Everyone told us that Gretna Green wasn't worth a visit as there's nothing there. I totally disagree! We had a fantastic day out there and learned a lot about the history of marriage. We had fun and didn't have to think much about accessibility because it just was... good.
Transport & Parking
We arrived in our motorhome and followed signs for motorhome parking, which was great. There were plenty of blue badge spaces nearer to the entrance though, so if we came by car, we'd park there.
Access
The grounds, in general are flat and well surfaced. The blacksmiths shop and exhibition are on a lower ground floor but there is a lift. Once down, it was spacious and easy to move around. The shopping outlet was good for access too, with ramps where needed and no obstacles inside shops. The cafe was easy to get around and clean. We also did the courtship maze and attached a love lock to the LOVE wall. This is on grass and compressed gravel paths. I used my mountain trike for this part and could get around everything except the final part of the maze (but that didn't matter). Outside the maze is a big mound that you can climb up to get a view of the maze from above. I didn't think I'd be able to get up but they've put a kind of path winding round, so I could do it. It was hard work going uphill on grass but worth it for the views.
Toilets
There were at least two accessible toilets. One was out of order but the one next door was fine.
Staff
All staff that we met were very pleasant and helpful.
