Overview
A completely unexpected access experience. A tunnel built in 1902 so that south London residents could go to work in the docks on the Isle of Dogs turns out to be a great find.

Access
The Greenwich Foot Tunnel is fully accessible for wheelchair users. Each of the entrance hallways, large brick built circular structures houses one of the largest lifts I've seen. Press the button and the wide glass doors open to allow you to enter. Choose the tunnel level and you descend to the tune. Coming out of the lift you are immediately in the 1,217 foot tunnel. The surface is divided into two lanes; one for each direction. It slopes gently down as you go under the river and then starts climbing back up as you get to the opposite bank. A similar lift takes you back to ground level.

Anything else you wish to tell us?
If you're looking for something completely different then this is a great experience. You get some fantastic views of Maritime Greenwich from each of the tunnel hallways.
