Overview
Breath taking views with a wheelchair accessible cafe, museum and gift shop. There is disabled parking but you have to pay if you cannot find a free blue badge space There are a few steep hills to get to the cafe , museum and gift shop. There is a train and cable car which are not wheelchair friendly.
Transport & Parking
We drove the parking is plentyful however there are a limited number of blue badge spaces which you have to use or you have to pay so if a few disabled people go some may have to pay to park. It is up a very steep hill so wheeling up there in a wheelchair is out of the question
Access
There was disabled access to the museum , cafe and gift shop. The gift shop was a bit of a squeeze to get around in my powerchair however the staff were very nice and helpful. The cafe had fixed seats which meant I had to sit on the end of a table sticking out a bit.
Toilets
There were two disabled toilets , one in the cafe which was hidden behind a staff area and was difficult to find, I had to go past produce in packaging to get to it It was a bit of a squash getting past this produce to get to the loo and the loo it's self was quite small but do able. The other was in the museum whilst it was a bit roomier it was a bit of a squeeze to get my chair around.
Staff
The lady in the gift shop was very nice and helpful I went around the gift shop whilst my husband went on the cable car so was on my own.
Anything else you wish to tell us?
Despite it's difficulties it is do able and it is a worth while experience for the breathtaking views.
