Overview
Grand Central in Birmingham is a shopping and eating complex connected to Birmingham New Street Train Station. It has connections to the rest of the city centre and to the Bullring (i.e. the main shopping centre).
Transport & Parking
Cannot comment on the disabled parking as did not use, however from previous knowledge know that there is car parks linked throughout the city centre that have a large number of disabled parking that would make it accessible to Grand Central. During our visit, we used the train, and as Grand Central is connected to the train station it is accessible from the train station via lift or escalators. The train station is a level surface meaning that should people require it it is easy for manovourability.
Access
The disabled access to the main part of grand central is mainly via lifts from the train station, however there are also connectors from the bullring and the city centre that are via ramps or flat surfaces, meaning they are easily accessible. There is shopmobility available for people to use when they visit grand central via the main car park, am unsure if there is a cost attached as did not personally use during our visit. Grand central is a flat surface with seating and places to rest should people require it.
Toilets
DId not use the toilets so cannot comment however signage suggests that it is greatly available throughout.
Staff
Did not come into contact with any of the staff or volunteers connected to Grand Central. However, there are food and drink outlets around where people are more than happy to help with various needs.
