Overview
Day visit to a natural wonder of the world! I never thought I would be able to see it up close in a Powerchair but I did!
Transport & Parking
There is a large car park at the visitor centre with many blue badge spaces. Tour buses stop often but unsure about public transport.
Access
The visitor centre is level access and well signposted. Large text guides are available and audio guides too but I did not take any of these. The road down to the causeway is long and steep at parts with no handrails so take care. If you go on the road which is safer look out for the shuttle bus. I did not take the bus but noticed it takes you from the top of the hill all the way down to the bottom and back again. I saw a wheelchair ramp in the bus but did not see anyone else use it so maybe get in touch if this is something you'd like to use.
Toilets
There is a great accessible toilet in the visitor centre. Lots of turning space, roll under sink and handrails where needed so I could use the space independently.
Staff
Anything else you wish to tell us?
Companions go free if you wish to visit the visitor centre. But if you just wish to see the sights there is a path that follows down to the bottom of the causeway. Note: if going in the summer remember your hat and sunscreen!
