Overview
We went to Gaucho (Argentinian restaurant ) on the afternoon of Hogmanay. The restaurant is wheelchair accessible and the staff good. The dining area was not too busy. There were a variety of age groups on the day we were there. Some of us had steaks and others had the Sunday roast beef. The food was good although some felt their meals could have been hotter.
Transport & Parking
Due to the Hogmanay celebrations in Edinburgh the streets surrounding the restaurant were closed off. This meant that we had to park quite a distance away from the restaurant. Normally you can park just outside the restaurant if you have a disabled blue badge. There are plenty of bus stops in close proximity to the restaurant and Waverley train station is also nearby. Another option is of course the Edinburgh tram which is also very close.
Access
There is level access to the restaurant. Inside there is a small reception and a seating/bar area. The dining area is downstairs. Wheelchair users need to use the lift to access the dining area. Getting to the lift from the entrance door is a little bit challenging because there are so many chairs and tables in such a small space and not a lot of room to manoeuvre a wheelchair. however it was manageable. We were met downstairs by member of staff who took us to our table. There are a variety of different styles of tables some more suitable for wheelchair users than others.
Toilets
I cannot comment because I forgot to look . Sorry
