Overview

There’s step free access to this bridge which goes across the Tyne. Very funky design and there’s lots to do along the quayside too with bars and restaurants... you get a great view from here too...

The whole of the quayside was step free and you could wheel right on to the bridge... there’s different lanes for pedestrians or a dual lane for pedestrians and bikes. Lots of spots to take a picture and great in the sunshine!

Would love to have seen the bridge go up to let bigger ships through - we got told its nickname is The Blinking Eye and that incredibly it doesn’t use and electricity but self generates enough power itself.
