Overview
The Community Hub Friockheim is a amazing place that is based in a former Primary School and is home to a range of different activities for local people including things like Baby Yoga and a Farm shop. The hubs website gives details about all the activities available in the venue. At the centre of the hub is a wonderful community cafe that provides a wide range of different foods and has a menu available for people with food allergies. The cafe has standard size tables with chairs that can be removed to allow a Wheelchair to the table. The way the building has been modernised allows a lot of natural light in to the building.
Transport & Parking
The car parking space is in the former school playground to the site and rear of the building and is level throughout there are also a number of car charging points in the rear car park and these are clearly marked off
Access
There is level access from both the front and rear rear entrance to the car park both take you towards the Community cafe area. The car park is a good size for the venue there was lots of space in the car park as many of the locals simply walk or take their wheelchair if going to the venue.
Toilets
There is a Wheelchair accessible toilet inside the hub the door to this and the other toilet is located opposite the cafe counter. There is also a Changing Places toilet that is accessible via the door in the cable wall area this can be found on the lefthand side of the building if you are in the rear car park and there is a Two slab path that leads you round to the door which can be opened with a Radar key. The Changing Places toilet is also available even if the hub is closed due to it location
Staff
The staff made us very welcome and were happy to answer questions about the menu and to provide the menu for those with food allergy issues. They also check that we were enjoying our food and apologised due to something being off the menu.
Anything else you wish to tell us?
For the size of Friockheim this truly is an amazing venue that the people living in the area should be very proud of. The venue its self is fantastic but having the changing Places toilet available for people who might be travelling is just wonderful the place is an amazing gem in the Angus area. I really did enjoy my lunch and visit to the hub
