Overview
Purpose-built disabled & rehabilitation hydrotherapy pool in Abbotts Leigh, just outside of Bristol. I've attended regularly for some time, doing both water and land-based physiotherapy, although the team are without a regular Physiotherapist at present (July '24). Various sized changing rooms which can accommodate wheelchair & carer's, individual cubicles or wet room style showers. Ceiling hoist, trollies, chairs, pool equipment available - covers all situations, staff assist with transfers & hoisting into pool. Half-hour or hourly pre-bookable sessions available.
Transport & Parking
You can only go by car or a WAV as centre is located in a fairly rural place, accessed off the main road along a long driveway with big speed ramps. It has car park with several disabled parking bays & a drop-off disabled space nearer to the centre. Slope with speed bumps from car park. Automatic door with push button to pool.
Access
As expected.
Toilets
The loo's are in the 2 bigger changing rooms, so need to ask staff members if available to use. Loo's have grab rails, space for wheelchair & carer.
Staff
All staff chirpy, friendly & helpful. Staff keep floor mopped, so not wet.
