Overview
Such a pleasant surprise. There were lifts and the staff were super helpful. Good disabled toilet. Free carer ticket so I found it good value going with my daughter. I paid extra for the flexible ticket so there was no stress from the unpredictability of public transport travel in a wheelchair. Images of paintings are projected all around you (walls ceiling etc) and suitable music plays for each piece. Such a lovely relaxing pleasant outing. Great to see people of all ages enjoying immersing themselves in art. My daughter happens to have learning difficulties and she really loved being able to enjoy the art without having to struggle reading text. So we both had a very happy accessible experience!
Transport & Parking
Got bus from Victoria which is pretty easy. On way back walked across the parks, which was lovely.
Access
The staff were super helpful. Wheelchair access is great The lifts were very good - although I dont know what happens if they are broken. The wonderful visuals and matching sound effects of course may not be accessible to all. However I believe they have some specific access session.
Toilets
For me in my scooter the toilets were great. Seemed pretty big so I guess would be OK for most people. Yes they were clean.
Staff
I was impressed with all the staff I saw. All seemed to be happy to be there (if you know what I mean). For example on the way in my paper ticket I had printed did not show the QR code but it was not a problem and the girl immediately told me not to worry as they could sort that out (unlike last week in Holland where they kicked up a huge fuss and stressed me out!).
