Overview
I'm a student at York St. John Uni and since I go there a lot I see that it is accessible to wheelchair users and people with other disabilities. I believe it's a friendly environmet and it doesn't necessarily mean you go there to study. I often meet up with my friends there to chat and I've also seen people doing craft projects there and the library staff can provide you with different crafting tools. There are toilets for disabled people and a lift for the higher floors. Also, just outside the library there is a small cafe and there's available parking space for wheelchair users.
Transport & Parking
Going there by a car, there are parking spots for wheelchair users and I believe the nearest bus stop is no more than 10 minutes walk.
Access
There are automatic doors that open with the push of a button, the issue that I noticed is that even though there are double doors, only one will open automatically when the button is pushed and it is narrow for wheelchairs.
Toilets
There is not an automatic door for the toilets thus there is a toilet for people with disabilities. I believe there are rails to grab on and it definitely has more space.
Staff
The library staff are always happy to help with anything you might need.
