This is a venue that has really put some thought into its accessibility to ensure guests with disabilities feel as comfortable and as safe as possible...

Transport & Parking

We arrived by car, the Blue Badge parking area was clearly marked and there was ample room even for the largest of vehicles. The pathways from the carpark to the reception are very good, the reception itself is also accessible and they even have their own onsite wheelchairs for any ambulant guests that might feel its too much of a walk.

Access

The majority of pathways are good, there are a few little areas where the surface needs a little attention but generally very good. You can even get a wheelchair to the top of the giraffe viewing platform.. I also found that the grassed areas are well maintained and kept short so on dry days these areas are fully accessible to an active user or a decent powerchair.

Toilets

I only used one of the accessible toilets while there and found it perfectly ample..

Staff

From the point of reception to the restaurants to the animal enclosures and back again, all staff encountered were amazing, polite, pleasant and nothing was too much trouble..

Anything else you wish to tell us?

I recently visited another zoo which I will not mention, the contrast is the Folly Farm is 98% accessible and the other zoo was in my opinion 98% inaccessible.. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who just wants to enjoy a day at the zoo without having to watch the path so as castors don't get caught or watch every footstep for fear of falling.. In my own personal opinion so many attractions could learn so much from Folly Farm, I even managed to get a photo of penguins underwater..!
