Overview

Folkestone West is one of two stations that serve the town the station is served by trains on the fast service from St Pancras that takes around 55mins. The station has only 2 platforms. If you arrive by train in Folkestone it will be on platform 2 once of the train it is level through out and you can exit via a gate just before the platform building in to the car park. The platforms are connected via an underpass with a large number of stairs however both platforms have ground level exit entry in there own. Platform 1 is the main platform and your departure point out of the town to wards London. There is a ticket office on the left hand side as you enter the building on platform one. There are information boards on both platforms giving you times of the next train departure and arrival etc.

Transport & Parking

There are a good number of Blue badge space in the car park on Platform 1 these were clearly marked and we were told that they were very good at making sure non badge holders did not use the spaces. The town is also served by a number of Taxi firms

Access

Both platforms give level access on there own platform two you can enter or exit via a gate in the car park strait on to the platform while platform 1 can be accessed via the station building both platforms had a few seats available to use and both platforms were of a good width as well. our visit was during the day so unable to comment on lighting levels at night time etc.

Toilets

There is one wheelchair accessible toilet on platform 1 it is to the left as you exit the building on to the platform the ladies and gents are located next to the accessible toilet which might affect access due to the space available. The signage is very clear for the toilet facilities. The accessible toilet is a good clean basic wheelchair accessible toilet that requires a Radar key to access

Staff

Staff very helpful and knowledgeable but will do there best to assist you ticket office very busy during our visit
