Overview

We were staying at the hotel and had arrived early. Our room wasn’t ready so we had a snack in the bar. The bar was very busy as they were showing the football. We found one table in an alcove which wasn’t the best of places for me. As I blocked part of the walkway to the door with my wheelchair. We ordered sandwiches but to my allergies asked for some items not to be included. The bar staff hadn’t listened to what I had said and the sandwiches came with everything . I had to remove the items I couldn’t eat. But apart from that the food was ok. The bar area could do with some redecoration as the wallpaper was missing in places on the wall . Having said all this access was easy for my wheelchair and a member of the public opened the doors to the bar for us.

Transport & Parking

Arrived by car for a mini break . They do have a car park but we could park on the street outside the main entrance to the hotel that is marked for hotels guests only. Reception took a note of our car registration and said that was the best place for us to leave the car.

Access

4

You have to push all the doors open to get into the hotel or bar areas, but it’s all on one level which was ideal

Toilets

We found one disabled loo not far from our hotel room which had enough room for my wheelchair and my carer to assist me.

Staff

Staff were ok but we did say that we found the hotel cold especially in the restaurant, bars and lounge area . radiator were not on much at all in these areas ,only one in the restaurant and one in the lounge.

Anything else you wish to tell us?

There were signs up about mask wearing and some hand sanitizer, but didn’t see much cleaning of areas where people might touch quite a bit. I felt reasonably covid safe but I do carry my own hand sanitizers to use all the time.
