Overview
Absolutely great to take the kids to. Geared up for children up to around 8yrs old I’d day. You can phone in advance to reserve an electric mobility scooter - there is no charge! Majority of the park is on flat, level, tarmac or wooden decking. Big downside is that there isn’t any reserves or set-aside area for those with mobility problems. There was no alternative queuing options and mobility scooter wouldn’t fit in the queuing area. Then there was the difficulty of parking the scooter easily at some attractions/rides. The covered area for animal handling and the farm show was a great space however not accessible by scooter or wheelchair as there was no space for them in the auditorium. For those with mobility problems there was no reserved front row (floor level) seating. I ended up having to park my scooter outside to stand in a queue and then navigate 8 steps to get half way up the seating area. There is no lowered serving areas at the food or refreshment areas. If you have mobility troubles then I would definitely say you would need to take a carer with you (free entry for carer) to help navigate and utilise the park.
Transport & Parking
Very limited disabled parking bays. Rest of the car park is on a mixture of surfaces (tarmac, grass, hardcore).
Access
Step free navigation to majority of the park (only steps I noticed was for accessing some adventure walkways and tracks that with mobility issues I wouldn’t attempt anyway). There were seating areas scattered about the park. Free mobility scooter snd wheelchair loan. Recommended that you phone in advance to reserve as there is a limited amount available. No alternative formats to the signage, maps, menus. No lowered areas for those in chairs or reserved areas for those with mobility difficulties. No quiet area.
Toilets
No changing places but disabled toilet located at most toilet blocks around the park.
Staff
Staff were very cheery and helpful when you asked for help
Anything else you wish to tell us?
Didn’t witness any cleaning of surfaces between rides (ie trailer ride, ghost train etc were not wiped down between rides). There were limited sanitiser units around the park. There were hand washing stations at the animal handling areas. Staff were not wearing masks so this didn’t encourage members of the public to do so. There was no limit to the amount of people permitted in indoor areas. There were no social distancing reminders or measures in place.
