Overview
A building that was built in 2016 has not one member of staff trained on how to use the Evac Chair. They have one it's sitting right there on the wall of the first floor and yet they haven't trained someone. I was turned away this morning because of this and I'm so upset. Prince's Trust use this building as a venue for its courses I was there on Monday (17th of July) to confirm it was all accessible and it looked great. They have a lift, flat ground floor access, wide doors it's a lovely new building but no one trained. I also noticed that there wasn't clear signage on where disabled people should wait in a safe place incase of an emergency. Just fire exit signposted to the stairs.
Transport & Parking
Uber costs about £7 to £8 and any bus going via Western General hospital will get you very close. Just a 1 minute walk to the building.
Access
There is an easy entrance and a lift. Print is fine it's neither easy or hard to read. It's like a block handwriting like font they use. I didn't see an induction loop anywhere and the only braille is in the lift. But all of this is meaningless due to the lack of trained staff on the evac chair
Toilets
It wasn't marked as disabled but as staff but I was told I could use it. It was obviously made to be a disabled toilet with grab rails and a red cord (this was tied up so I undid it and placed a card on it) There was cleaning stuff left in the toilet which is pretty frustrating and limits the space.
