Overview
We stayed for three nights in 'The Opulent' apartment. We liked the quiet location and the level access. The windows in the roof were a bit of an issue though.
Transport & Parking
We drove. The parking area is quite flat with some loose gravel. We parked approx six metres from the door to our accommodation, which was the part of the barn called 'The Opulent'. The path from the parking to the door was paved.
Access
There were three doors to access the apartment, all at ground level. They weren't completely flat - they all had slight ridges across their thresholds. The main door to the apartment wouldn't open fully so the space was approx 61cm wide. The other two doors were approx 82cm wide. Once inside, the open plan main living area (sitting, dining, kitchen), one bedroom and one bathroom were all ground floor and level access. Internal doorways were, again, approx 82cm. The main living area was quite spacious. The bathroom a little small, but level access into shower area, and there was a fold down shower seat. The bedroom had quite a bit of space on the left side of the bed but the other side had only a tiny gap between it and the wall. The bed was big but quite low - about knee height. At the other end of the apartment there was another bedroom and bathroom going off from the main living area. A slightly odd layout, with six steps up to the small bedroom with slanted ceilings, and six steps down to a spacious bathroom with a roll top bath and a shower cubicle with a step up into it. The central courtyard had a path around most of the perimeter but the rest was cobbled. Both bedrooms had small windows in their ceilings with no way of blocking the light, so it came flooding in from daybreak. This was a bit of an issue for my light-sensitive husband - fortunately he had brought his eye mask with him.
Toilets
Immaculately clean, but it was your average loo. No grab rails.
Staff
The cleaners were lovely and helpful. We asked one of them a question. She didn't know the answer but when we got back from our trip out she'd left an answer taped to the door. The proprietor also came around later to help. These people were all nice and helpful.
