This review is especially helpful for those who have or use the following: Mobility Scooter
Overview
Total lack of accessibility to the castle to someone in a wheelchair or mobility scooter Even accessibility to the gardens was extremely difficult and in fact dangerous as there is a raised concrete ‘step’ to get over in order to access the gardens. An item as simple as a removable ramp would have solved this problem. When the situation was raised with the staff member in the ticket office, she told us tough luck in so many words. She also said that ramps were not allowed. In the 21st century? Really? I cannot believe that this situation is not breaking some kind of law. I have given a rating of 1 star only because there is no way of giving zero.
Transport & Parking
By car. Very little disabled parking close to the palace.
