Overview
We called in at this little museum whilst we were in Eyemouth. It is in the town centre, very close to the harbour. Access was good, all on one level, with a couple of ramped exhibits. The museum tells about the history of the town, which is mainly a farming and fishing community. There is a lovely section about the 1881 fishing disaster, which I found really interesting. Not far from the museum, there is also the Widows and Bairns sculpture, which is connected to the same disaster and is worth a visit.
Transport & Parking
We travelled by motorhome and there isn't really anywhere in the town that is suitable to park. We parked on the other side of the harbour, above the Gunsgreen Museum and then walked in. There is no car park for the museum but there is plenty of street parking around. Didn't see any specific blue badge parking anywhere.
Access
There are steps up to the area in front of the museum but there is also a ramp to one side. After that, everything was quite level and the museum is all on one floor. There was enough room for me to get around in my wheelchair, with my assistance dog beside me. A couple of the exhibits were ramped but not steep.
Toilets
There are no toilets in the museum but there are public toilets nearby.
Staff
The lady on the front desk was very friendly and told us various bits of information about the museum. I had already checked prices on their website so knew that their policy is for a carer to go free, but she wasn't going to tell us that. When I asked though, she was fine about it.
