Overview

A friendly neighbourhood bar which does a great line in snacks and meals. It's a short walk/wheel from the Place Leon Blum, which is well-served by buses. The bar is busy with a mainly local clientèle, who know a good thing when they see one. See www.express-bar.com for more details.

Transport & Parking

Can't comment on the parking. Buses 61 or 69 from the city centre will get you to a wheelchair-accessible stop called Voltaire-Leon Blum, from where it is a five minute wheel/walk.

Access

Level access from the street. Other customers were quick to move chairs so that we could access a table. Service is at your table, so the fact that the bar is of conventional height isn't a problem. There are also tables and chairs on the pavement for fine weather visitors.

Toilets

There are loos and they are clean and well-appointed but not wheelchair accessible. The nearest sanisette is in the Rue Général Guilhem about three minutes wheel/walk away.

Staff

Friendly and very helpful. The patron speaks excellent English, but then he is English.

Anything else you wish to tell us?

We felt right at home when we spotted an advert for Belhaven beer behind the bar. For a light lunchtime snack, trying sharing the Trois Pots - pots of Tapenade, Cream Cheese and Taramasalata with plenty of fresh and crispy bread. So good that we came back for a second visit.
