Overview
Accessibility throughout the centre was very good. There's level access to all areas, good signs, loads of loos and helpful staff.
Transport & Parking
Accessible parking is available on site although arrangements may vary according to the event you are visiting. Customs House and Prince Regent DLR stations serve the centre and each is linked by a short bridge, with lift access, directly into the centre complex. There is a taxi drop off point at the Eastern end of the complex.
Access
Access into and around the complex was barrier free. Main doors were automated, there were plenty of lifts and some ramps to change levels. The signage was good and plenty of space to move around.
Toilets
There were several accessible toilets located throughout the complex. The ones I used were spacious, modern and well appointed. There is also a Changing Places Toilet at the Eastern end of the complex.
Staff
Staff were particularly helpful in pointing out the direction to go, helping to locate the accessible loos and generally making sure the visit was enjoyable.
Anything else you wish to tell us?
The ExCel is very large and so there can be a lot of walking / wheeling involved. It's good to find out which end your event is nearest to so you can arrive at that end of the complex to minimise the distance you need to travel. Prince Regent DLR for the East and Customs House DLR for the West.
