Overview

Having visited Glastonbury a few times now, I was not expecting to be able to access this cafe as there are steps, however, the staff offered to bring out a ramp and they could not have been more welcoming or helpful; even the chef came out of the kitchen to help! The manageress was especially helpful and welcoming. Only one of our party is vegan but we would all be vegan if we could eat here every day. We all had different things from the buffet and it was all delicious, I also had a very exotic flowering green tea which contains a large seed-like flower which unfurls and blossoms in front of your eyes. The interior of the cafe is a positive, light green space with a living plant wall on one side, the water is specially filtered through a specialised system using vortex and ceramic balls and the cafe has EMF and Geopathic Stress protection. Although we were in near closing time, we never felt hurried and the atmosphere is very friendly and relaxing and definitely represents Glastonbury at its best! They asked us to come back and we definitely will.

Transport & Parking

3

There is only on-street parking available on the High St. which can be very busy at times, however, there is a nearby car-park with disabled spaces. We visited in the evening so availability could vary.

Access

4

You may have to ask someone to alert the staff to come to the door if it's closed which it might be in the winter. There is only a temporary ramp which the staff have to put in place and this is quite steep but manageable. The staff (and customers) were all very happy to help with this and were very helpful and welcoming. The interior of the cafe is also very accessible with room to manoeuvre between tables etc.

Toilets

3.5

There was a shared accessible loo which was fairly clean for last thing before closing with enough space and grab bars by the toilet and the sink, however, the emergency cord was tied around a grab-bar and this could be an issue.

Staff

5

The staff were very anxious to help and make us feel welcome, they could not have done any more and were really lovely. This greatly contributed to the overall relaxed and laid-back atmosphere in the cafe and reflected Glastonbury at its inclusive, non-judgemental open to everyone and everything best!

Anything else you wish to tell us?

I would absolutely recommend this cafe to anyone; don't let the steps put you off going in. I don't think that they are used to disabled people going into the cafe as the steps would tend to put people off if alone but I couldn't have been more pleasantly surprised. Other than the things already mentioned, I would not change a thing.
