Overview
ETTINGTON PARK HOTEL, STRATFORD APON AVON. CV37 8BU Enjoy a wonderful walk around the grounds of our recommended hotel. First of all you drive along a really nice woodland drive right up to the disabled parking bays right outside the front entrance (photo 1) which offers wonderful views across the landscaped grounds (photo 2) before you enter the hotel, via ramps that will be put down for you (photo 3). You will be warmly welcomed at the reception desk (photo 4) and shown into the lounge which has a doorway just by it that will take you out to a level tiled exit (photo 5) that leads out to the gardens and the lovely terrace area (photo 6) Nothing will beat this view on a lovely sunny day (photo 7) as you gaze over the tree lined landscape that stretches out as far as the eye can see (photo 8) If like us you cannot manage much of a walk, then stay and look back to the hotel (photo 9) and go out to the well maintained gardens (10) A path at the far end of gardens looks inviting (photo 11) and worth exploring as it leads back to the gardens (photo 12) and takes you over to the left towards the ruins of the old chapel (photo 13) and here you can enjoy looking over the ruins (photo 14) before you head back to the terrace gardens again (photo 15) which was more than enough for us today, so we headed back to the entrance, grateful it has a level entrance (photo 16) and settled down in the lounge with a cool wine in hand. If you would really like to cool down, then why not go and enjoy a nice swim, and head for the indoor pool. Follow signs from reception to the pool, and you will come to the very pleasant courtyard ( p17) and the entrance is ahead of you, BUT you will need staff to come and open the door for you, there is usually a member available in the office, which is by the courtyard on the left, because the actual pool entrance is up on the lift, across a passage, and you have to walk down a few steps, too much for a disabled person, so find staff to let you into pool, and it will be worthit, it’s a really nice pool (photo 18) and usually very few if any are taking a dip, and we have found it all to ourselves when taking photos (photo 19). Transport & Parking
The parking is very close to the entrance for this hotel.
Access
A ramp will take you into the hotel, then a level walk into the lounge, for a quick drink, or go straight out to the terrace gardens through a doorway very close to lounge and it’s on the level for you. If you fancy taking a swim in their wonderful indoor pool, you will need to find staff to get the key and let you in on the disabled access, which is on the level approach after a low step to get you down onto courtyard level, then you can enter the pool area.
Toilets
The disabled toilet sign for pool approach shows it to be down many stairs, so of no use at all for disabled, therefore you will need to find toilets by the reception desk area.
Staff
Excellent, willing and supporting.
