Overview

Ember is a fantastic barber shop in Paisley Town Centre. I’ve been a patron for a few years now. I’ve had my hair cut and my beard trimmed by three separate barbers in that time and I've never left disappointed. I’m particular about my beard, having had some poor experiences elsewhere - to the point where I’ve gone home and shaved it off entirely, each time experiencing instant regret. With step-free access and accommodating barbers, you can’t go wrong with Ember.

Transport & Parking

There is on-street parking on much of Causeyside Street close to the shop, with a long single yellow line immediately outside. I tend to park in one of the three accessible spaces around the corner on Johnston Street. There are 22 standard spaces on the same street. There are several bus routes that run through along the street on either side of the road.

Access

Ember is one of the few places I’ve found with decent access. Entered via the street, there’s a low and short incline into the shop. The doorway is wide and can accommodate a wheelchair or powerchair, with plenty of room to manoeuvre within the shop. If required they can remove a styling chair to enable them to cut your hair or style your beard from your wheelchair or powerchair. There is no call button but the shop front is all glass. They’ll see you from the street and quickly open the door - should it be closed.

Toilets

There are no public toilets at this location.

Staff

The staff are always pleasant, courteous, personable and keen to ensure you leave looking as sharp as possible. Dylan, who owns the shop and is my current barber, ensures that the shop welcomes everyone and that the client’s comfort is key. It’s hard to find someone I trust with my beard but I know when I go to Ember for a beard trim, I won’t be staring at my bare chin in the bathroom a few hours later.

I’d recommend Ember to anyone who wants a decent haircut or beard trim by experienced and knowledgeable barbers. They’re accommodating and eager to make sure you look your best. Bookings can be made via the Booksy app at the time of writing but walk-ins are welcome.
