Maybe challenging - as you'd expect at a country fair.
Visit date:
This review is especially helpful for those who have or use the following: Walking Aid, Wheelchair, Mobility Scooter
Overview
The first running of this one day agricultural show since covid. Parking and all stalls, show grounds and displays are in grassy fields. Loads of disabled parking spaces (on grass) near the entrance. Foldable mobility scooter coped OK (except on loose gravel entrance path) until the battery went flat! 4 wheeled rollator coped OK thereafter. Long car queues on exit.
Transport & Parking
Only accessible by car, bicycle or on foot. Lots of parking reserved for blue badge holders 'near' to the entrance - but on quite long grassy field. Mobility scooter coped OK, but wheelchairs could be a problem. No discounts for disabled or carers.
Access
2 large car parks with separate entrances to the site. We were in the North car park. Just after the entrance there was axpath with loose large stones that the mobility scooter struggled with. Its a very large show on a large site so you'd struggle to dee everything - livestock, horse displays, dog show, craft marquee, produce and cooking stalls, plenty of seats and refreshments ( festival prices!)
Toilets
There were several blocks of portaloos around the site and each included a disabled one with level entrance and wider. All you could expect in a portaloo.
Staff
Everyone was very helpful, experienced and geared up for visitors - but no specific help for disabled.
Anything else you wish to tell us?
Worth a visit if you're able to cope with large grassy areas. 2024 show is on Saturday 10th August 2024.
