Overview
To make clear from the outset, this is not a hotel for wheelchair users. There are steep steps - with handrails, or I would have been unable to manage. I use a rollator and had help carrying it. The hotel was contacted prior to my stay and as a result gave me a ground floor room with en suite facilities. The toilet was too low to use comfortably but the shower was fine. I enjoyed a pleasant 2-night stay. The point of this review is to praise the venue for their efforts as these meant I was accommodated sufficiently suitably for my needs.
Transport & Parking
There is no disabled parking. The number 11 bus to and from the city centre drops off / picks up close to the hotel and served me just fine.
Access
There is no disabled access, but the venue was made as accessible as possible to meet my needs.
Toilets
There is no accessible loo. The toilet was low and for me this proved the most problematic of the facilities, as there were no grab rails.
Staff
The staff tried their best to be helpful and accommodating. The woman who took the enquiry, once she understood what was required, gave assurances that were more than fully met. The receptionist at check in was also helpful. The cleaner servicing the room did a good job.
Anything else you wish to tell us?
It proved important for the hotel to be fully apprised of what was required, as I doubt the conditions would have been as good had this not been done. I would stay with them again.
