Overview
Having recently replaced the city centre Post Office in St James Centre at the East end of Princes Street, this new Post Office is excellent. It can be found on the upper level of the Princes Mall. You can access it via Princes Street (wheelchair access via the plaza next to Waverley Steps , getting the lift to upper level, or the other entrance is the ramp into Princes Mall on Waverley Bridge.
Transport & Parking
Being Edinburgh City Centre, there is a lack of car parking spaces close by. However, there is an excellent public transport service with a number of buses stopping almost directly at the door and the nearest tram stops being a few minutes walk away, either on Princes Street (at the Mound) or St Andrews Square, with a couple minutes walk down the hill to Princes Mall.
Access
The Post Office was entered via level access and automatic doors. Once inside, it is extremely spacious. To get served you must first choose a service that's required on a machine that will give out a numbered ticket. Wait until the number is called out and what desk you go to and the assistant will deal with you. This can be anything from buying stamps or package weighing, to getting a passport, travel insurance or currency. For those needing photos for passports/driving licenses there is a wheelchair accessible photo booth where the assistants will help.
Toilets
Although I know there are accessible toilets in the mall I did not use them so will not be able to comment or rate them on this review.
