Access

We used 3 different tours in one day, we started with the majestic tour which we joined in Newhaven where we were staying, this was the only way to get to Central Edinburgh on a bus due to the fact lothian buses are one of the bus companies that don't yet allow scooters on - despite the fact they seem to be linked to the tour bus who do! Driver dropped the ramp, on the majestic and the city tour it was a manual ramp, these also both had a screen showing the view from the front of the bus with subtitles. The tour to the 3 bridges boat had an automatic ramp with only one space and no screen. The boat tour wasn't easily accessible, however they very kindly secured my scooter with a bike chain when I left it near the landing area. The boat consisted if walking up a gangway, it did have 2 handrails. There were seats directly there, or alternatively a walk down 5 steps to an indoor area, there was also a bar down some further steps but I didn't go down there.

Staff were very friendly and helpful, unlike when I've used my scooter on firstleeds buses I didn't feel pressurised when negotiating the 72 Point turn to get my scooter off (admittedly it would have been easier if my children kept clear!)

Anything else you wish to tell us?

The bus tour is fantastic, we all listened to the horrible histories commentary on the city tour which was fun, I felt we all learned some facts too on all the tours. Our ticket lasts 48 hours so we plan to use the hop on and off to get round some places tomorrow, which will save my poor battery from some of the hills!
